Samsung Galaxy Gio – A Petty Competitor For The Iphone 4 PART 4

As previously stated, this third part adds the remaining half of the 28 apps bundle for the Samsung Galaxy Gio.

15. Talk – is an instant messaging client but offers little options and needs no special attention;
16. Youtube – is the dedicated app that allows viewing videos on Youtube and by using an EDGE connection a user is able to watch even HQ movies; is an app similar to the iPhone app;

18. Voice search – is an experimental app that allows searching the internet without using a keyboard; unfortunately it only recognizes English;
19. Navigation – is a good app that may replace a GPS with ease; the only detriment is that the screen is too small compared to dedicated GPS modules;

21. News & Weather – is a ‘centre’ created for reading news, watching the meteorological changes is weather and many other interesting news;
22. Think Free Office – is a very good dedicated suite for opening, viewing, editing and writing documents; it can be very useful when the laptop or the PC is not available and you need document editing;
23. Activities manager – insures app management, providing extensive options regarding closing down apps, uninstalling them, clearing up RAM memory and an interesting and efficient status monitor for the processor and the amount of memory occupied; this app also provides the necessary means to download and install apps through the Market portal; most apps present in the Market are compatible with the smartphone as it’s operating system version is 2.2.

The other 5 apps are usual for all smartphones and need no presentation.

In which regards performances, the Samsung Galaxy Gio offers great computing power for a smartphone with a processor clocked at 800 MHz and this, combined with the super fast Android operating system make this smartphone one of the best and fastest smartphones in its niche.

In browser mode, the pinch to zoom function does not block so the overall impression is a pleasant one.

When playing Angry Birds, the game that made a career among smartphone users, the Gio is acting very well without any delays, lags or any other bad reactions. Compared to other Android smartphones such as the HTC – Wildfire this Samsung is faster and more stable.

In GPS module behavior this smartphone is fabulous; it connects to the satellite network is less than 10 seconds and offers pin point accuracy even compared to dedicated GPS Navigation devices that cost about the same and offer just the GPS function.

The aspects reviewed in this part are simply enough to make you choose this model over others and should provide a minimum insight for any potential customer.
